Along with Woll, Simone Missick who played the breakout fan favorite character Misty Knight in Luke Cage will also be making her presence known in the team up series.

The Tie Strikers aerodynamic wings allow for pilots to maneuver the starfighter much better within a planet’s atmosphere than it’s predecessor. Having improved maneuvering capabilities allows for a more effective line of defense when protecting Imperial bases such as the one that is host to the Death Star manufacturing facility on Scariff which is exactly where we will see the Tie Strikers in Rogue One.
The TIE Striker was a streamlined variant of the TIE linestarfightersused by the Galactic Empire for in-atmosphere engagements and the defense of important Imperial bases. Though designed for atmosphere, it could also function in space and accompany traditional TIE fighters.[3] Equipped with advanced high-speed wings, it was faster than the standard TIE/LN starfighter and had an extra pair of laser barrels.[1][4]

Stranger Things fans were up in arms over the lack of acknowledgement for the disappearance of Barbra Holland (Shannon Purser) in the first season of Stranger Things. While I was a fan of Purser’s performance of the character I think everyone can relate to, I was sort of baffled by how many people seemed to miss the scene when the local police explained that Barb’s car was found at the bus station making it seem as if she had run away. While we all knew it was a cover-up, the local police did not so it would make sense for them not to use up any more of their limited resources in the midst of Will Byers’ disappearance.
But as we know, enough uproar on the internet can make just about anything happen these days. The Force Awakens struck a perfect balance between visual and practical effects to the point that it was able to trick your eye into believing a visual effect was actually practical and vice versa. Plenty of scenes featured visual effects that you would have never guessed were CGI and this morning it has been brought to our attention thanks to io9 (h/t CBR) just exactly what one of those scenes were.
In a clip, which you can view over at io9, Abrams discusses how Kylo Ren’s face was to first be revealed in the scene that introduced Supreme Leader Snoke, however. It was later decided to add Ren’s mask back onto Adam Driver in post production. This marks the second scene where Ren’s face was going to be revealed instead of when he removed his mask to show Rey he was not a monster, but a human underneath what was simply an intimidation device. The shot when he slammed his mask down into what I believe were the ashes of Darth Vader, was actually shot for the scene when Ren spoke to Vader’s mask in his chamber. The shot was lifted and then placed back into the interrogation scene later in the film. This has me wondering what other scenes Ren’s mask could have been a visual effect in but I don’t think when he spoke to Vader’s mask was one of them. I believe they actually shot that scene twice, once with Ren’s mask on and once with it off as they were still trying to figure out when the right time for the reveal was going to be. Hopefully, the 3D blu-ray will shed more light on this.

News to talk about the experience of creating the devastatingly beautiful and more hopeful episode than we are used to seeing from Black Mirror titled “San Junipero”. Raw spoke about reading the script for the first time and Brooker added what his intention for the episode was.

I read it on my phone which I suppose is very Black Mirror esque and I just couldn’t stop reading it — it was so beautifully written. And also just such a unique concept — the characters are so vibrant. And It really effected me actually I thought, wow this is really making me think.
Brooker:
It was the first one I wrote for this season actually and I was trying to reinvent what the show was, hence the american setting.
The two also shared what they hoped audiences would take away from the episode.
Brooker:
It’s a universal romance and a coming of age story and hopefully it’s sort of optimistic and hopeful.
Raw:
It has a sort of surprise emotional sort of pull to it that will hopefully draw people in and make you think and make you feel.
Black Mirror usually shows us the dark side of the possible future that technology could foster for us, however. “San Junipero” gave us a look at an extraordinary technology that I think would appeal to many if given the opportunity to (SPOILER ALERT) spend the afterlife roaming through the era’s of their choice in a virtual reality for eternity. I mean who doesn’t want to go back to the 80’s?
Black Mirror currently has another six episodes in development which are slated to hit Netflix sometime in 2017.
So far, season five of Arrow has been a bit of a hit or miss as it struggles to find its way with a mostly new cast. Considering last week’s fantastic entry to the series, it should come as no surprise that this episode was, unfortunately, mediocre, full of implausibility and conflict that didn’t add up to anything.

The episode opens with Team Arrow 2.0 in the midst of a training exercise as they attempt to stop petty criminal sporting a cheesy gold chain from committing a burglary. The scene does nothing but shows us that the trainees have not made any progress in their training from last week. At this point, the only members with a fighting chance are Wild Dog and Ragman. Evelyn and Curtis are going to get themselves killed if they don’t start improving fast. They are both sloppy and it’s impossible to buy them as formidable crime-fighting vigilantes.
While I’m not a big fan of Ragman’s look, Joe Dinicol’s performance at Rory is fantastic. Unfortunately, most of his scenes were bogged down by Emily Bett Rickard’s insipid performance. She just can’t play the emotion needed to bring the scene to life. Her acting feels contrived as she lacks conviction in almost all of her scenes. Even Rickard’s doesn’t seem to be on the side of her character when she’s arguing with Oliver for the sake of conflict. She really has no business telling Oliver or Lyla what decision to make and her attitude makes it extremely irritating. I used to be a huge fan of her character in the first and second season. I was even a fan of Olicity. But at this point, scenes with Felicity are tiresome and make me yearn for her exit from the show.

The flashbacks continue to slug along in Russia as we get four quick scenes dispersed sparingly throughout the episode. I would say that they were pointless and really amounted to nothing if it wasn’t for the fact that it was Oliver’s was finally accepted into the Bratva, something I thought actually happened when he passed the test last week. But no, we had to go through another few quick scenes to get us there. The problem with the flashbacks are consistent with the last two seasons. They feel generic and uninspired. You can tell it’s a chore for the producers to fit the flashback storyline into the script and the budget. They are just trying to skirt by with a serviceable storyline until it catches up to the first season and they are no more.
Tobias Church had the only clever storyline of the episode as he staged a burglary to smuggle in an explosive device into the evidence lock-up at the police station. Unfortunately, it all collapsed on itself as his motives were never clearly explained. I have no idea what he was trying to achieve. And did anyone see that goon in the sunglasses? Seriously, the costume design for criminals has always been whack on Arrow but this episode took it to all new heights. At least the ones who were wearing hats had hats that actually fit and weren’t cocked to the side like goofballs in previous seasons.

Adrian Chase’s viewpoint that vigilantes are a superficial solution and that if it takes them to solve the city’s problems the criminal justice department isn’t doing their jobs well is accurate, however. His turning point felt organic after he was rescued by the rookie superheroes of Star City, making him realize the ones who wear a mask can be an effective force for good in a crime-ridden and corrupt city such as theirs. While I still can’t buy him as a future crime fighter, the motivations are most certainly falling into place.

The prison break was fun but a bit underwhelming. There just wasn’t enough action and Oliver sneaking in through the laundry was totally silly. The immature and unprofessional prison guard didn’t help either. But it did bring us a fantastic scene between Oliver and Diggle that reminded me of the brotherhood that the two share that made this show so excellent in the first place. Diggle still has a lot of healing to do after murdering his brother, but it seems Oliver – as his new brother – got through to him, making him realize he can still find redemption resuming his crusade as Spartan. Unfortunately, the silliness reached an all-time high when Lyla flew a military cargo plane over the prison and extracted the two from the prison yard much like skyhook program used by Batman in The Dark Knight when Batman extracted Lao from China. Considering the show’s budget, I think they reached a little too far with that one.

Ultimately, this episode got the job done breaking Diggle out of prison and getting him one step closer to returning to Team Arrow. His presence in the Arrow cave is sorely needed especially given all the new mentees Oliver has taken on in his struggle to keep Star City safe. Episodes like this only highlight why 23 episodes per season are far too many. As we see with shorter seasons, they allow for a tighter more compelling and engaging narrative that doesn’t feel like it wasted our time, which is exactly how this episode made me feel.

Once more directing for two of the featured characters of the upcoming 8-episode limited series, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) herself, and Luke Cage (Mike Colter),(‘AKA Crush Syndrome,’ AKA Ladies Night’), having the characters of Daredevil (Charlie Cox), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) along for the initial ride can only mean familiar flow with the promise of new excitement. Acting powerhouse Sigourney Weaver will also join as an as-yet-unnamed villainess.
With Jessica Jones featuring a roster of exclusively women directors in its soon to start shooting second season, it seems that Marvel’s recent agenda leaning towards gender equality also supports the return of its stellar directing alumni. Both of the episodes Clarkson directed were incredibly human, intimate, and gut wrenching in their own rights. I’m sure more of the same macabre street magic is to come as The Defenders work together to protect New York City.
The story will revolve around four loner heroes that will pull their resources to become stronger as a whole. For those who’ve seen Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Daredevil (which have their first – and where Daredevil is concerned, also second – season available to watch in full on Netflix), imagining these solitary heroic souls working together for the wellbeing of all might sound like a bit of a challenge.

Mashable reports John Wick Co-director David Leich is the current frontrunner in talks to lead the merc with a mouth into his second outing. Leich already has a history with Fox and Wade Wilson as he was the action coordinator on X-Men Origins: Wolverine, as well as the second unit director for The Wolverine. Along with his John Wick co-director Chad Stahelski, the two also directed the second unit for this year’s Captain America: Civil War which featured some of the film’s most breathtaking actions sequences.
With Ryan Reynolds being given more creative control for the sequel, and Leich in the directing chair, it seems like the two could be a perfect fit for what could be a more stylish and thrilling follow-up to the action-comedy, however. Take this all with a grain as no deal has actually been made with Leich and according to Mashable’s source, several other directors are still in the running.
UPDATE: Deadline reports two other directors who are also in talks to take over the directing responsibilities for Miller in Deadpool 2 which includes Drew Goddard and Magnus Martens.
Goddard, most-known for being hired to direct the Sinister Six spin-off of the now cancelled The Amazing Spider-Man franchise at Sony also penned the script for The Martian, directed The Cabin in The Woods, and executive produced both seasons of Marvel’sDaredevil on Netflix.
Martens is a relative newcomer who’s directing credits include episodes of Marvel’s Agents of Shield as well as Luke Cage on Netflix.
At this point, no deal has been made, however. Fox will be looking to fill the role fast if they plan to keep the films production on schedule. Even with Goddard and Martens now reported to be in the running — according to Deadlines sources — Leitch is still at the top of the shortlist to helm the project.
Deadpool 2 is currently looking to start filming this spring, slated for release on January 12, 2018.

While I am still partial to the designs from the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers / Super Sentai Series from Japan, I am excited to see what looks like an anime to come life in a live-action American film.
