The upcoming reboot of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers will take on a darker, less campy tone compared to the original series which premiered in the early nineties. The film simply titled Power Rangers dropped its first trailer at New York Comic-Con a few weeks ago and while it introduced us to the new take on the franchise, it included just enough attitude and martial arts to remind us these are still the same rangers many of us grew up loving.
Dacre Montgomery who stars as Jason/The Red Ranger (and recently added to Stranger Things 2) shared with us a new photo from the film via his Instagram account featuring Jason looking troubled in his bedroom. We already saw Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks) attack Trini (Becky Gomez) in her bedroom via the trailer so it’s possible she could be paying Jason a visit as well. Whatever the case is, the pants Jason has on have some tears across the upper leg portion. Judging from his build, it would seem like this occurs after the teenagers discover the alien rock that contains their power coins.
