The upcoming Power Rangers reboot is a reimagination of the franchise featuring a darker and more dramatic look and tone compared to the bright and campy take on the original Fox Kids Series. This reimagining brings us all new designs of the suits worn by the Power Rangers as well as the costume of their arch-nemesis Rita Repulsa.
Thanks to Instagram user michaelangeloming (h/t CBR) we have a new close-up look at all of the new Power Ranger suits as well as a look at Rita Repulsa’s new green costume.
Along with the new looks for the Rangers and Rita Repulsa, we just got our first look at the newly designed Megazord when it was revealed via the official twitter account for the upcoming film this past Friday.
Considering everything we have seen so far from the film is redesigned from the original series, you can bet that the yet to be revealed characters of Zordon and Alpha will be sporting an updated look as well. But even with the fresh take on the upcoming film, the core of the series still remains in that the characters myself and many grew up loving are still the same teenagers with attitude.
Power Rangers stars Dacre Montgomery as Jason Lee Scott (Red Ranger), RJ Cyler as Billy Cranston (Blue Ranger), Naomi Scott as Kimberly Hart (Pink Ranger), Becky G as Trini Kwan (Yellow Ranger), Ludi Lin as Zack Taylor (Black Ranger), Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa, Bryan Cranston as Zordon, and Bill Hader as Alpha 5.
