A short behind the scenes documentary of Netflix’s smash hit Stranger Things is available thanks to PILOTE la chronique série (h/t dakun). The documentary offers a never been seen look into the sets and locations of the series including Mikes basement, Hawkins lab, and Hawkins Middle School. Production designer Chris Trujillo and property master Lynda Reiss are on hand offering insight into the craft and care that was taken to deliver the show as an authentic period piece.Trujillo takes you on a walkthrough of the set for Hawkins lab where you can see the practical effects that were used to create the first layer of the tentacles bleeding over from the upside down. Some crew from the animatronics department are also featured as they showcase the Demogorgon suit worn by Mark Steger.
Lully de Verdade also has a documentary chronicling her visit to the set. Lully interviews Stranger Things directors the Duffer Brothers and the young cast including Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb Mclaughlin. The directors and the cast discuss the inspiration for the series and express their delight bringing it to life.
These documentaries are in French and Portuguese but all of the cast and crew being interviewed is in English.
