Assassin’s Creed has the best chance of finally legitimizing video game adaptations in cinema, however. Up until now the marketing campaign for the film has been a strange one, featuring modern day hip-hop clashing against the medieval setting in the trailers. While the film does look like it has potential at being the best video game adaptation yet (which isn’t saying much), the marketing is needed to be spectacular for it to be able to compete with the juggernaut Rogue One. In a last ditch effort, 20th Century Fox has released a final trailer for the film that finally features appropriate music. The film features a tremendously talented cast led by Macbeth alum Michael Fassbender, Marion Cottilard, and director Justin Kurzel.
Assassin’s Creed hits theaters December 21st.
The film stars Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson and Michael K. Williams. Written by Michael Lesslie, Adam Cooper, and Bill Collage. Directed by Justin Kurzel
