Debbie Reynolds, who became a Hollywood icon after her role in Singin’ in the Rain has tragically passed away at 84 years old just one day after the death of her daughter Carrie Fisher, Variety reports.
Debbie was rushed to the hospital earlier this afternoon around 1 p.m. after she reportedly suffered a stroke while discussing funeral plans for Carrie at her son Todd’s house in Beverly Hills, CA. Debbie is survived by her son Todd and granddaughter Billie Lourd.
Just yesterday, Debbie posted on Facebook thanking fans for their thoughts and prayers for her daughter:
“Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter. I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop. Love Carries Mother”
My heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to her family at this unimaginably difficult time.
