Woody Harrelson Confirms His Role as a Mentor to Han Solo

Just yesterday, Woody Harrelson officially joined the cast of the young Han Solo film which is getting underway at Pinewood studios in London. The actor has been rumored to play a character who serves as a mentor to the slimy no good swindler but until now that has remained just a rumor.

In a recent chat with Mashable on Facebook, Harrelson confirmed he would indeed be a mentor to Solo but also revealed a new tidbit regarding the character:

“I’m a mentor to Han, but I’m also a bit of a criminal. I don’t think I should say much more than that because the Force is not allowing me.”

Harrelson joins the cast with Alden Ehrenreich starring as the young Han Solo as well as Donald Glover as the young Lando Calrissian. Emilia Clarke also joined the cast recently in a role that is still currently unknown. President of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy has described the young Han Solo film as a western with a color palette influenced by the paintings of Frederic Remington. The script has been penned by Star Wars writing veteran Lawrence Kasdan and son Jon Kasdan. With cinematographer Bradford Young on board, the film has the potential to have a bold look and feel that could strike a perfect balance between humor and drama.

The Untitled Han Solo Story is slated to hit theaters May 25, 2018, however, there is a rumor the film could be shifted to December 13, 2018.

Gamora Confirmed to Appear in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

Screen Shot 2017-01-09 at 5.13.34 PM.png

Last night at the Golden Globes, Zoe Saldana herself confirmed she would indeed appear as Gamora in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War while speaking with MTV News, however, the actress revealed she yet to see the script:

“I don’t know when they’re gonna let me read it. I mean, I’m not looking forward to the five hours of green make-up, but every time I finally arrive on set I feel so happy and lucky to be there.”

The film which isn’t due out until May 4, 2018, will undoubtedly be the biggest and most expensive Marvel film in history. At this point, the film is overflowing with characters and if it wasn’t for the fact that The Russo Brothers are at the helm I’d be worried. But the Russo’s already proved with Captain America: Civil War that they can jam pack a film full of superheroes and keep the film well balanced and focused while using each and every superhero effectively.

Marvel has released the first official behind the scenes look at the upcoming third outing for the Asgardian hero titled Thor: Ragnarok. The photo features Chris Hemsworth being directed by Taika Waititi. The film has been rumored to be a sort of buddy cop road movie in space featuring Thor and Hulk but thanks to the release of the film’s official synopsis, it seems the two will instead be pitted against each other.

“In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok — the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization — at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger — the Incredible Hulk!”

The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Anthony Hopkins, Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson, Jeff Goldblum, Karl Urban and Mark Ruffalo. Written by Stephen Folsom, Craig Kyle, Eric Pearson, and Christopher Yost. Directed by Taika Waititi.

Latest ‘Beauty and the Beast’ TV Spot Shows the Beast’s Charm

screen-shot-2016-11-05-at-11-56-40-pm

The marketing campaign for Beauty and the Beast is starting to ramp up to the films the release and the more we see from the film, the more everything in this live-action remake looks perfect. Well, everything except for the Beast’s face. Hopefully, the animation in the finished film will be better because right now it just looks downright weird and cartoonish.

The latest tv spot focuses on the Beast’s charm and what he must do to woo Belle into falling in love with him in order to break the spell.

Beauty and the Beast hits theaters March 17, 2017.

‘Star Wars Rebels’: “Saw Gerrera” Promo Bridges Film and Animation

(MINOR SPOILERS FOR ROGUE ONE)

Star Wars Live-action and CG animation collide in the latest promo for the two-hour midseason premiere of Star Wars Rebels. The promo teases the Rebels debut of Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker), the rebel extremist who first appeared in the animated series The Clone Wars and later raised Jyn Erso after the death of her mother and capture of her father by the Empire.

Clone Wars gave us the origin of Gerrera but we didn’t get to see exactly how his extreme methods caused problems for the Rebel Alliance. It seems Gerrera is much to blame for the Rebellions reputation being a terrorist organization as described in Lost Stars. Hopefully, Rebels will color that in for us, as much as a children’s series can.

Star Wars Rebels returns January 7, 2017, with a special hour-long two-episode mid-season premiere on DisneyXD.
