The upcoming crossover event on The CW will see Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and The Legends of Tomorrow all coming together to take on The Dominators.

In the comics, the alien race was harnessing the metagene (the gene that gives metahumans their powers) to enhance members of their own species.

Marc Guggenheim spoke with Entertainment Weekly on how exactly the crossover will unfold and how it will affect (while not taking away from) the 100th episode of Arrow.

People didn’t want to feel like the crossover was highjacking what should be a really seminal episode and a seminal moment for the show Arrow, which I think is wonderful. Greg came up with an idea that really does allow us to have our cake and eat it, too.

The crossover will have a quasi-beginning at the tail end of a Supergirl episode but things really won’t kick off until the next night on The Flash. Barry and Cisco decide the best way to fight aliens is with an alien and it sounds like the two will be traveling to what Guggenheim has dubbed ‘Earth-CBS’ to enlist Kara’s help.

The second hour of the crossover will be the 100th episode of Arrow and will see the return of many cast members including Katie CassidyJohn BarrowmanNeal Mcdonough, and Susanna Thompson. Unfortunately, Colin Donnell‘s schedule could not allow him to return as he is busy shooting Chicago Med but Guggenheim promises the character of Tommy will be represented in the episode he describes as a love letter to the show’s previous 99 episodes.
