The cover puts the spotlight on the films McGuffin itself, the death star plans. The blueprint reveals the complete technical specifications for the superweapon though you’ll have to be able to read aurebesh as well as understand the science of the Star Wars universe. Good luck!

‘Rogue One’ TV Spot #7; Officially Rated PG-13

The latest TV spot for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story offers a few glimpses at new footage but offers nothing substantial. What’s important about this spot is that it reveals the film has been officially rated PG-13. Considering this is supposed to be a war film and a darker entry into the Star Wars franchise it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. This marks the third Star Wars film to be rated PG-13 along with Revenge of the Sith and The Force Awakens.

Pre-sale tickets have yet to become available but I would be ready at the computer on November 24, at 8 pm. ET/PT. During the Disney Magical Holiday Celebration on ABC, we will get an exclusive look at Rogue One in what will most likely be a very short featurette offering a few glimpses of new footage interlaced with interviews from the cast. Chances are tickets will go on sale then as it would be a perfect opportunity to make the announcement while families are together celebrating Thanksgiving.

Two New ‘Rogue One’ International TV Spots; New Dolby Cinema Poster

In addition to the featurette released by Lucasfilm today for the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, two new TV spots from Japan have hit the web. Each of them serves to spotlight Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) individually. While there is no new footage in the spots, nor do we learn anything new about Jyn, the spot for Cassian offers some new insight into his character as a recruiter for the Rebel Alliance.

Along with the new TV spots, two new posters have also made their way online this week including an official IMAX poster as well as an exclusive poster from Dolby Cinemas which was originally released as the Russian poster for the film.

‘Rogue One’: International Trailer #3 Will Leave You Screaming

Take cover people! Lucasfilm just dropped another international trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. It’s essentially a mashup of the last few trailers but it contains some brief new footage including a hilarious bit between Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen) and Baze Malbus (Jiang Wen) as well as some shots from the climactic space battle over Scariff that will leave you screaming just like the X-wing pilot seen in previous trailers. If you don’t want to see any more footage from the film I would suggest not watching, but if you love Star Wars and can’t help yourself like me, enjoy!

Felicity Jones Talks Playing Jyn Erso

Star Wars isn’t just for boys anymore. This holiday, Lucasfilm will introduce us to another heroic female lead with Felicity Jones as the rebel soldier Jyn Erso who will lead the rebellion on their mission to steal the plans to the first Death Star which allowed Luke to destroy the superweapon in the original classic A New Hope.

Star Wars isn’t just for boys anymore. Last Christmas, The Force Awakens introduced us to one of the greatest female heroines in history in the form of Daisy Ridley as Rey, who begins as an orphaned scavenger trying to get by on the junkyard of a planet known as Jakku as she embarks on her heroes journey which resulted in the discovery of the self-exiled hero of the galaxy, Luke Skywalker.

Continuing that trend this holiday, Lucasfilm will introduce us to another heroic female lead with Felicity Jones as the rebel soldier Jyn Erso who will lead the rebellion on their mission to steal the plans to the first Death Star which allowed Luke to destroy the superweapon in the original classic A New Hope.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, the oscar nominated actress discussed the empowering experience she hopes for girls to have when the experience Rogue One.

I just hope that girls like the movie and can invest in Jyn’s story and care about her. It is quite nice now that instead of a fish’s tail, girls can see a cool female character who’s got a blaster and can run really fast.

Jones also commented on how much she enjoyed the physicality required for playing the role of Jyn Erso.

I loved it because I got to kick some ass. I loved the physical side of making these larger films. I worked closely with the stunt teams and got to learn a new skill. I mean, you do go home covered in bruises, but it’s worth it.

Garreth Edwards On Challenges of Rogue One; New Photos Released

One of the biggest questions going into Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is how will director Garreth Edwards manage to capture the tension of the rebels spies stealing the Death Star being that we know they will succeed but most likely meet their demise before it’s all over.

One of the biggest questions going into Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is how will director Garreth Edwards manage to capture the tension of the rebels spies stealing the Death Star being that we know they will succeed but most likely meet their demise before it’s all over. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Edwards explained that rather than focusing on the film’s ending, the bigger challenge was determining just where to begin the story in a way that gets us invested in the new characters and still manages to fit into the Skywalker saga as the film will lead us up to the moments before the original classic A New Hope begins with Darth Vaders Star Destroyer, “The Devastator” chasing down Princess Leia on board the Tantive IV attempting to escape from the Empire with the newly stolen plans for the Death Star.

“The thing every [filmmaker] typically struggles with is ‘How does it end?’” says director Gareth Edwards (Godzilla). “But we knew how our film was going to end. Our problem became ‘How do we reverse engineer from that and know where to start?’ You’ve got a finite number of options and you go through them all like a puzzle to find the one that’s going to lead to the strongest result.” One of the most important pieces: Darth Vader, back to menace the deep reaches of space once again.

Edwards also spoke with USA Today about the origin of Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), who’s father we know was taken away from her at a young age as he was the main scientist forced by the Empire to help develop the technology that powers the super weapon of the Death Star. The director explained Erso does have similarities to Luke Skywalker in that they are both initially reluctant heroes, however. The path that Erso will follow will be a very different one from the Jedi Master.

Events take place that just shatter her life and send her off to basically be raised as a soldier in the midst of a war. She ends up not the person she was supposed to be. Even though we’re not telling the story of Luke Skywalker, it was important to me that we capture the same themes and emotion, but the film doesn’t unfold how you think. It’s not the same path as Star Wars.
