Production is currently underway on the sequel to this Summers smash hit series Stranger Things in Atlanta, GA. The second season has been teased as a bigger, darker, yet familiar continuation of the horror mystery sci-fi adventure that will inject action into the series with Aliens and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom cited as major influences. Stranger Things 2 continues the adventure a year later in the fall of 1984 as the Byers family and Will’s friends struggle to reclaim a sense of normalcy after the events of season one. Season two will explore the consequences of Will’s time in the upside down while dealing with the portal which remains open at the Department of Energy.

Thanks to the DailyMail, a few new set photos have hit the web revealing the kids back on their bikes on the streets of the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. Another photo also reveals Lucas has his trusty binoculars from Vietnam on hand.

Stranger Things 2 hits Netflix sometime in 2017.

A short behind the scenes documentary of Netflix’s smash hit Stranger Things is available thanks to PILOTE la chronique série (h/t dakun). The documentary offers a never been seen look into the sets and locations of the series including Mikes basement, Hawkins lab, and Hawkins Middle School. Production designer Chris Trujillo and property master Lynda Reiss are on hand offering insight into the craft and care that was taken to deliver the show as an authentic period piece.Trujillo takes you on a walkthrough of the set for Hawkins lab where you can see the practical effects that were used to create the first layer of the tentacles bleeding over from the upside down. Some crew from the animatronics department are also featured as they showcase the Demogorgon suit worn by Mark Steger.

Lully de Verdade also has a documentary chronicling her visit to the set. Lully interviews Stranger Things directors the Duffer Brothers and the young cast including Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb Mclaughlin. The directors and the cast discuss the inspiration for the series and express their delight bringing it to life.

The 80’s are back! The cameras were rolling on Stranger Things 2 yesterday in Stockbridge, GA. Thanks to JustJared we have our first look at much of the returning cast as well as some new faces who could be guest stars or extras appearing in the first episode of the second season.

Season two is said to be bigger and darker yet familiar. The adventure continues a year later in the fall of 1984 and will explore the consequences of Will Byers’ week spent in the upside down and the portal that is still open at the Department of Energy. In addition to the return of Millie Bobby Brown as the iconic Eleven, the series will add 80’s stars Sean Astin (The Goonies), Paul Reiser (Aliens) as well as newcomers Linnea BerthelsenDacre Montgomery (Power Rangers) and broadway star Sadie Sink into the mix.

Stranger Things 2 stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb Mclaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, and Noah Schnapp.

‘Stranger Things 2’ Early Set Photo

It’s happening! For most people, this is nothing of importance so don’t get too excited but for someone who is counting down the seconds until The Duffer Brothers call action on set, this has me pretty pumped.

Thanks to Reddit user mondaymillionare, we have a look at the trailers set up ready to host the actors as they create what will hopefully be another magical experience for audiences. The photo was taken today in Jackson, Georgia which serves as the fictional settings of Hawkins, Indiana.

What we know:

The second season will pick up a year post the events of season one in the fall of 1984 and will feature the return of the entire original cast plus several new additions, two of which were recently announced. The story will deal directly with the portal that is still open to the upside down and how Will has been affected by his time spent there. Things are still up in the air with the return of Eleven but she’s definitely returning. You don’t create an iconic character like that and kill her off after one season. Plus if she was gone for good, I think the Duffers would be pretty up front about that. Their reluctance whether or not to tell us if Eleven is returning signals to me that we will see her again.

Oh, but Barb is dead. Seriously, she is not coming back, however. The show will deliver some form of ‘Justice For Barb’ to satisfy audiences frustrations with the lack of acknowledgment over the loss of Barb in the first season.

The second season begins production sometime in the next two weeks.

Stranger Things 2 will hit Netflix sometime in 2017.

David Harbour Auditions For Eleven

David Harbour proves once again he throws the greatest punches since Indiana Jones. Check out the behind the scenes video in which he slugs the casting director during his audition for the role of his future daughter Eleven via Funny Or Die.

NYCC 2016: ‘Stranger Things’ Panel

Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbor were in attendance today at New York Comic Con for a ‘Stranger Things’ panel earlier this morning. We didn’t learn any concrete information, however. We did get a couple interesting bits.

The cast has received the first few scripts and it’s going to be insane. The Duffer Brothers have already said that films such as Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Aliens, and Terminator 2 are the biggest 80’s (and 90’s) influences for the sequel. We can expect the action genre to be injected into the science fiction horror mystery, taking it to the next level like it did with the films of James Cameron. The show is going to have a bigger budget in the next season and they are going to need it.

Can you imagine if they took the kids and dropped them into something like the mineshaft chase scene from the end of Temple of Doom?

I’m not saying anything… but it’s going to be amazing.

If Brown has already received a script for the second season that would most certainly hint at her character’s return, likely in one of the earlier episodes.

Also, Barb (Shannon Purser) was indeed confirmed to be dead.

Eleven has to come back. She is far too iconic of a character for the show to continue without her. David Harbour said in a previous interview with AOL Build that Hopper and Eleven could help each other heal from the wrongs that have been done to them.

Stranger Things 2  will be streaming on Netflix sometime in 2017.

NYCC 2016: ‘Justice For Barb’

The ‘Justice For Barb’ phenomenon continues. Spotted all around New York Comic Con are missing flyers for the beloved character from this past summers biggest series Stranger Things.

So let’s talk about this for a second. Did everyone but me miss the scene in the cafeteria when Nancy and Mrs. Wheeler were talking to the two local officers? They said the state police found Barb’s car at the bus station making it seem as if she had run away. If the local cops were under that impression then why would they be using up the little resources they have to look for her? Especially with the Will crisis going on.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Barb as well, I mean—we are all Barb and yes, the characters needed to acknowledge what happened to her more but shit like this is why Hollywood has to now force feed exposition down our throats. Get over it people! They showed you what happened to her. She’s dead!
