New Look at Pennywise From Andy Muschietti’s ‘IT’ Remake

The film adaptation of Stephen King’s IT from director Andy Muschietti (Mama) is said to be the truest adaptation of the novel yet, however. Rather than being split between the child and adult narratives like the book and the TV-Miniseries from 1990, the film will instead focus solely on the children and will later be followed by a sequel centered on the adults as they defeat the evil clown Pennywise for good. The film will also swap out the 1960’s era, setting the children’s storyline in the 1980’s, picking up with them as adults in modern day as opposed to the original 1980’s setting.

Thanks to the film’s makeup effects artist Tom Woodruff Jr., we have a new look at Pennywise played by Bill Skarsgård who is ready to make you float.

The film stars Finn Wolfhard, Jaeden Lieberher, Wyatt Olef, Jack Grazer, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Chosen Jacobs, and Bill Skarsgård. Written by Gary Dauberman and Chase Palmer. Directed by Andy Muschietti.

Based on Stephen King’s best-selling novel. A group of young kids face their biggest fears when they seek answers to the disappearance of children in their hometown of Derry, Maine. They square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.

First Test Screening of Andy Muschietti’s ‘IT’ Next Week

The losers club doesn’t make their theatrical debut until next September but a cut of the film is in order and New Line Cinema is ready to test it for audiences. If you live in Burbank, CA, you can catch a screening of the film next week on Thursday, December 15^th.
