The CW’s subversive take on the beloved comic book series Archie, is set to premiere this month coinciding with the characters 75th anniversary.

Riverdale reimagines the story in modern day and sports a relatively unknown cast with the exceptions of 80’s and 90’s stars Molly Ringwald and Luke Perry. The latest promo dropped by The CW teases the teases the murder mystery, sex, and chaos while telling us things aren’t quite what they seem in the sleepy town of Riverdale.

The series stars K.J. Apa, Cole Sprouse, Camilla Mendes, Lili Reinhart, Madelaine Petsch, Ashleigh Murray, Casey CottShannon Purser, Luke Perry, and Molly Ringwald.

Riverdale premieres January 29, 2017, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

As a new school year begins, the town of Riverdale is reeling from the recent, tragic death of high school golden boy Jason Blossom — and nothing feels the same… Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) is still the all-American teen, but the summer’s events made him realize that he wants to pursue a career in music — not follow in his dad’s footsteps—despite the sudden end of his forbidden relationship with Riverdale’s young music teacher, Ms. Grundy (Sarah Habel). Which means Archie doesn’t have anyone who will mentor him — certainly not singer Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray), who is only focused on her band, the soon-to-be-world-famous Pussycats. It’s all weighing heavily on Archie’s mind — as is his fractured friendship with budding writer and fellow classmate Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse). Meanwhile, girl-next-door Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) is anxious to see her crush Archie after being away all summer, but she’s not quite ready to reveal her true feelings to him. And Betty’s nerves – which are hardly soothed by her overbearing mother Alice (Mädchen Amick) aren’t the only thing holding her back. When a new student, Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes), arrives in town from New York with her mother Hermione (Marisol Nichols), there’s an undeniable spark between her and Archie, even though Veronica doesn’t want to risk her new friendship with Betty by making a play for Archie. And then there’s Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch)… Riverdale’s Queen Bee is happy to stir up trouble amongst Archie, Betty, and Veronica, but Cheryl is keeping secrets of her own. What, exactly, is she hiding about the mysterious death of her twin brother, Jason? Riverdale may look like a quiet, sleepy town, but there are dangers in the shadows…

‘Arrow’: “Who Are You” Extended Preview

Screen Shot 2016-12-27 at 12.44.54 PM.png

Arrow has essentially rendered deaths on the series meaningless as it has found countless ways to bring back characters from the grave since first introducing magic into the series and using the Lazarus pit to resurrect Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) in the third season. Since then we have seen every dead character return in some form or another with the exception whether it be a flashback, hallucination, or dream. But it seems the writers have come up with a new mysterious reason to explain the return of a former series regular.

To close out the first half of season five, Oliver returned to his lair to find Laurel Lance A.K.A. Black Canary (Katie Cassidy) eyeing up her old super suit. At least it looked like her. The new promo for the midseason premiere titled “Who Are You?” teases this Black Canary could either be Black Siren (who was last seen in The Flash’s metahuman prison underneath Star Labs) or someone else entirely.

Arrow returns January 25 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

‘The Flash’: “The Monster” Extended Preview

Last nights episode of The Flash introduced us to an Earth 19 Harrison Wells dubbed “HR”, or as I called him in my review, Tom Cavanaugh. HR seemed equally as humourous as Harry but with without the snarky attitude. While Cisco and Caitlin instantly took a liking to him, Harry was immediately distrusting in what seemed like jealousy but was all too obvious of a misdirect.

In a promo released by The CW, Cisco has begun to grow suspicious of HR just as a mysterious meta-human monster goes on a rampage in Central City.

The synopsis for the episode also reveals that Dr. Caitlin Snow will reach out to her mother for help after her newfound powers have begun to manifest in unexpected and uncontrollabe ways.

The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

CAITLIN CALLS ON HER MOTHER FOR HELP WITH HER GROWING META POWERS — Desperate to understand what is happening to her, Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) visits her mother, Dr. Tannhauser (guest star Susan Walters), a renowned biomedical researcher, in the hopes that her mother can provide some answers about Caitlin’s growing meta-human powers.

However, when Dr. Tannhauser treats her daughter like a test subject, Caitlin grows cold and brings up past wounds causing the two to have a major blowout. Meanwhile, after a mysterious new meta-human attacks Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) tries to convince Julian (Tom Felton) to let him assist on the case.
