Before Khal Drogo becomes the King of Atlantis, Jason Momoa is going to have to breach the violent European run fur-trade industry as a part-Irish, part native American in the new Netflix Original series Frontier.

Co-created and directed by Brad Peyton (San Andreas),  the six-episode series hits Netflix on January 20th.

First Trailer For ‘Bright Lights’ Documentary Starring Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher Debuts

HBO has released a heartfelt trailer for the documentary Bright Lights which spotlights the close relationship between mother Debbie Reynolds and her daughter Carrie Fisher who both passed away last week. It came as a shock to both Carrie’s family and Star Wars fans around the world when Carrie suffered a major heart attack on a transatlantic flight from London to Los Angeles just two days before Christmas. Carrie held on but tragically slipped away just four days later. The following day her mother, Debbie, suffered a stroke due to the overwhelming stress of losing Carrie. Debbie told her son, Todd Fisher: “I miss her so much, I want to be with Carrie”, according to TMZ.

The documentary shows just how close the two who lived next door to each other were as it focuses on how the family handled their fame as well as Carrie’s struggle with her manic depressive disorder.

Bright Lights airs this Saturday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.

Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds is an intimate portrait of Hollywood royalty, in all its eccentricity. At 83 years old, grand dame Debbie Reynolds (star of “Singing in the Rain,”) still performs a Las Vegas act, dressed in gold lamé. But performing takes its toll, and Debbie’s health suffers. This devastates her daughter, “Star Wars” actress Carrie Fisher, whose response is both hilarious and heart-rending. Carrie is helpless in the face of her mother’s determination that “the show must go on.”

‘Star Wars Rebels’ Season 3 Mid-Season Trailer Will Give You Goosebumps

The back half of the third season of Star Wars Rebels is about to kick off with a two episode mid-season premiere featuring the Rebels debut of Saw Gerrera voiced by Forest Whitaker. Lucasfilm and DisneyXD have released an incredible trailer for the rest of season three and it looks astounding. While I have always enjoyed the series, much like Marvel and DC television, Rebels has felt rather limited (with the exception of the Ahsoka storyline) as to not take away from the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. That all changes now.

Star Wars Rebels returns January 7, 2017, on DisneyXD.

And Betty’s nerves – which are hardly soothed by her overbearing mother Alice (Mädchen Amick) aren’t the only thing holding her back. When a new student, Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes), arrives in town from New York with her mother Hermione (Marisol Nichols), there’s an undeniable spark between her and Archie, even though Veronica doesn’t want to risk her new friendship with Betty by making a play for Archie. And then there’s Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch)… Riverdale’s Queen Bee is happy to stir up trouble amongst Archie, Betty, and Veronica, but Cheryl is keeping secrets of her own. What, exactly, is she hiding about the mysterious death of her twin brother, Jason? Riverdale may look like a quiet, sleepy town, but there are dangers in the shadows…

Screen Shot 2016-12-19 at 12.19.50 PM.png

Cue up that Vangelis. The long-awaited sequel to Blade runner from Denis Villeneuve is finally here. The announcement trailer doesn’t offer much in terms of the plot other than Officer K (Ryan Gosling) is looking for Deckard (Harrison Ford) but it does contain some stunning cinematography from Roger Deakins(Sicario).

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. ‘Homeland’: Season 6 Trailer Brings The Story Back Home

Screen Shot 2016-12-17 at 8.37.21 PM.png

Homeland season 6 brings the story back home to deal with the relevant issue of homegrown terrorism and the CIA dealing with a new President who doesn’t quite seem to have a grasp on how important their role in counterterrorism is. Whether it’s 24, or Homeland, Howard Gordon always seems to be one step ahead with plots that are almost a little too close for comfort. In addition to relevant plotlines, the mostly grounded series asks us to take a leap of faith and suspend our disbelief as this season will see the return of Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend).

Quinn was one of the most badass CIA agents to ever grace the small screen until the writers tangled him up in a ridiculous plotline that should have left him dead. While Homeland has always been a fantastical take on the United States’ war on terror, the prestigious series has always been somewhat grounded up until the series went full 24 in the fourth season when terrorists infiltrated the US embassy in Pakistan using a hidden tunnel. While the season’s climax felt more 24 than it did Homeland, the series quickly got back to its more subdued approach to drama but unfortunately the writers sidelined Quinn for the fifth season, literally having him stumble his way into a terror cell only for them to use nerve gas on him. Magically, Quinn survived and is somehow able to speak again. While I love Quinn’s character and I’m glad he survived, it hurts the show’s credibility to keep him in the mix.

Homeland season 6 premieres Sunday, January 15th at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime.

The series stars Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin, Rupert Friend, Elizabeth Keane, Dominic Fumusa, Patrick Sabonigui, Sekou bah, and F. Murray Abraham.

The upcoming live-action adaptation of Ghost in the Shell starring Scarlett Johansson is only a few short months away and it’s time for the marketing campaign to start ramping up to the film’s release. Paramount has released an international trailer for the film which is essentially a remix of the US trailer with a few bits of new footage offering glimpses of The Major in action as well as a shot of her creation from the opening titles of the film. I can’t help but still be so impressed by Rupert Sanders as he looks to have crafted an extraordinary vision that remains completely faithful to the anime.

The film stars Scarlett JohannsonPilou AsbækMichael PittJuliette Binoche, Kaori Momoi, Rila Fukushima, Chin Han, Danusia Samal, Lasarus Ratuere, Yutaka Izumihara, and Tuwanda Manyimo. Written by Jamie Moss. Directed by Rupert Sanders.
